Officials Information

The 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games is seeking volunteer sports officials to officiate during the World Winter Games next February. Applications for volunteer sports officials are now being accepted for the following sports:

  • Alpine Skiing
  • Cross-Country Skiing
  • Figure Skating
  • Floor Hockey
  • Snowboarding
  • Snowshoeing
  • Speed Skating

The World Winter Games is also looking for Special Olympics athletes participating as qualified officials, who have completed the Special Olympics Officials Program for Athletes (SOOPA), as well as their athlete mentors.

NOTE: International and/or National Sports Federation official certification (if issued by the sport) and/or Special Olympics officiating experience is preferred and, in some cases mandatory.
